with arbiters you could send one into enemy base, recall army, attack, and when your enemy comes to fight back you have 2 arbiters in your base and you recall your army out of danger, then another arbiter is near your enemies far expansion and recalls some units there and you attack that less defended expansion and recall out when your enemy tries to respond to that threat




mothership sucks very much in comparison

Bring defilars back also. And put hydras back in tier 1.

Also just delete the mothership its obvious protoss dont want it. They're just going to keep qqing forever.

I'm not sure terran could win against zerg if defilers were still in the game.

infestors suck i agree

n' yea hydras were better in sc. in sc hydras were 1 food so you could have twice the amount

hydras and mutas were better in sc heh. and lurkers were better than roaches

but dragoons were better than stalkers/sentries and sc cannons > sc2 cannons

I think they purposely broke the best stuff in order to make sure it had a different feel. I know for a fact that didnt want protoss to have one unit they could spam like dragoons.

I'm starting to feel Mothership isn't so much a super-power unit as it is a super nerf to arbiters

i mean,to be serious?Mothership isn't even as good.And at least with arbiters you could make a few to hold the cloak up a little longer.Hell i think they even lived longer!

Stasis field was better and lasted longer, and had a bigger aoe. But Arbiters can't cloak your buildings =P

Yeah but at the same time,Theres no real point in cloaking your buildings

Sure,you could protect Canons,but unless it's a giant wall and units they'll just kill your mothership first anyway

Cloaking was better for offensive battle,since if you were on defensive they'd single out the arbiter very quickly.

on offensive they would do it quickly,but against a massed and organized force,there would be no jumping them.

I was hoping there would be a thread like this so I could add my support.

No planet cracker or other sweet abilities, huge cost, huge size, CRAZY slow.... why is the mothership the best ship in the toss fleet? I was very excited that there would be something cool to make, and it turns out it's very lackluster....

...while I don't like the concept of hero units like War3 and "upkeep".... and SC1 is awesome... having ONE unit at a time that will cost a ton of time and resources to build for each race would be neat. For example:

Ion Cannon for Terran - make it have to have a couple BC's fly it around but it's like a flying siege tank (not sure how to make this one unique, maybe ion cannon is a bad idea for terran theme)

Cerebrate for Zerg - lets you make units really fast and increases health regen while you are near - can move only on creep or via worms

Mothership for Protoss - put the abilities back that were in before so it's not just an arbitor

And I miss the U 238 Shells for my marines, but we all gotta make do :P

I'm glad i dont have to upgrade them in anymore. It was a mandatory upgrade that got a little tiresome. Ungh... have to click a button...ungh... internet and computers have made me so lazy.... <---it's true

Bring 2d Graphics back, and ultras shouldn't be able to burrow, and bunkers that only take up 2X2 area and can't be upgraded, and floating engineering bays, and science vessels, and shield battery, and everything that was removed from StarCraft 1 and get rid of everything new in StarCraft 2.

Am I right? StarCraft 1 was perfect and absolutely nothing should be changed.

It does not matter that the arbiter is better than the mothership. That is not the point of a new unit with a similar role, that it has to be stronger than the previous unit. That's not the point at all. It is an issue of balance.

The mothership DEFINITELY doesnt live longer...in fact vortex is another way of "displaying" stasis field and at least u were able to produce as many arbiters and needed and they were also mobile enough for you to run them away from focus fire.....the new mothership is neither.......dont know why its supposedly the super unit in the game...for a unit that costs 400+ minerals and gas, it doesnt even compare to the colossus which is 300 minerals/gas
